Lake Baikal is the deepest lake on Earth and one the precious nature reserves with the clearest water. This tour to the north of Baikal lake shows the intact wildlife, beautiful mountains, crystal water and thermal springs.
DAY 1
- Arrival in Irkutsk.
- Breakfast in the cafe.
- Check in to a hotel
- City tour in Irkutsk (by bus and cable car). You will see the main attractions of the city where old wooden houses are mixed with modern buildings, museums and factories.
- Lunch.
- Tour to the Museum of wooden architecture "Taltsy" located on the shore of the Angara river. It’s a perfect place for enjoying the beauty of Siberian nature, getting to know the region’s ethnography, architecture and traditions of the 17th-19th centuries.
- Tour to the Baikal Lymnology museum in Listvyanka village situated on the very shore of the famous lake. The exhibition shows a wonderful world of the lake’s flora and fauna which one can see in large aquariums and by submerging in a virtual bathyscaph.
- Free time at the lakeside.
- Return to Irkutsk.
DAY 2
- Breakfast at the hotel and check-out.
- Transfer to the airport, flight to Nizhneangarsk and transfer to Severobaikalsk.
- Check-in at the hotel.
- Tour to Baykalskoe village, Cape Ludar and Slyudyanskiye Lakes.
Baykalskoe is a fishermen’s village existing since 1889. Surrounded by untouched nature, it preserves old way of living. The famous documentary “The blue eye of Siberia”, the winner of ecological festivals, was filmed here. - Lunch.
- Cape Ludar is a place of archeological interest, where you can see ancient human settlements, petroglyphs and remains of the old fortresses.
- Trip to Slyudyanskiye Lakes where you can have a rest and bathe.
- Return то Severobaikalsk.
DAY 3
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Boat trip in North Baikal. You will see nature reserve areas, the Frolikha river coming from the mountains, the Ayaa bay which is one of the most beautiful places is Baikal. A walk through the forest will take you to a tourist camp.
- Lunch at the tourist camp Hakusy.
- Boat trip in South Baikal – shaman spot Khaman-Kit and Turalinskie caves.
- Return to Severobaikalsk.
DAY 4
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Bus and walking tour in Severobaikalsk, Nizhneangarsk, the Evenki village and Dzelinda springs.
You will see awesome landscapes of Siberian taiga and mountain heights; bridges and tunnels of the famous soviet project of 20th century – Baikal-Amur Mainline; culture and traditions of the Evenkis, the aboriginals of the land. - Lunch.
- Dzelinda thermal springs.
- Return to Severobaikalsk.
DAY 5
- Breakfast and check-out.
- A boat trip to Olkhon island (270 km). Surrounded by the endless waters of Baikal, you will see white peaks of Baikal ridge and islands of the Small sea.
- Lunch on the boat.
- Arrival to the Olkhon island, check-in at the hotel.
DAY 6
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Tour to Cape Khoboy. The cape is a long pillar-shaped rock situated in the widest part of Baikal where you can clearly see the size of the lake. Cape Hoboy keeps a lot of mysteries and legends. While traveling there you will see all the diversity of the island’s scape: areas of steppe, the Three Brothers rock and the “walking” trees.
- Picnic lunch.
- Transfer back to the hotel.
DAY 7
- Breakfast.
- Free day on the island of Olkhon.
DAY 8
- Breakfast and check-out
- Departure to Irkutsk.
- Lunch at the cafe.
