The museum exposition tells in detail the history of alcohol-containing drinks in Russia. The visit to the museum ends with a tasting of the drink in natural conditions of a simple Russian buzz bar (ryumochnaya): at a high «standing» table, from misted faceted glasses and accompanied by the traditional snacks (sandwich with salo, sprat, pickles). - Russian lunch at the Stackenschneider restaurant

DAY 2
- Meeting the guide.
- Bus excursion.
- The architecture of the Soviet avant-garde.
Saint Petersburg is considered to be a city of magnificent architecture: in the center of the metropolis and on its outskirts there are many beautiful palaces and magnificent mansions. But there are other architectural sights in Saint Petersburg that were constructed in the first half of the 20th century. For the country and the new Soviet man, this was an era of rapid changes and a different understanding of the daily routines. For the architecture, at the time of 1920-1930s functionality and efficiency superseded the excesses of interiors and pretentiousness of facades. This is the time when unique buildings and complexes of avant-garde architecture were created in Leningrad. It seems that we will go to explore the past – but we will see the future. The innovative buildings of the avant-garde and the ideas embodied in them, were ahead of time not only 80 years ago but also now. - Soviet style lunch.
Those who were born is the USSR will be pleased to hear the following words: snack bars, sandwich bars, dumpling cafes, meet pastry canteens and buffets. Cafes and restaurants in the Soviet era were a luxury; most citizens could go to a restaurant only on occasion such as an anniversary or a wedding. Affordable catering was provided at work — the production canteen regularly fed everyone with a set lunch. That is what we will try. - Metro tour «Palaces of the Leningrad subway». It is no secret that many Saint Petersburg metro stations are striking in their beauty and interesting architectural decoration. During the excursion you will get acquainted with the legends of the city metro, learn how the palaces of the Saint Petersburg underground kingdom were constructed, and admire the architecture of the metro.
- Gastronomic journey to the Soviet Union.
We will travel in time and visit places that have preserved the spirit of the bygone Soviet era. You will learn what dishes of the Soviet cafes are the most memorable to the citizens, how the two kinds of donuts – pyshki and ponchiki differ and visit the place where the beloved buzz bar (ryumochnaya) of the Nobel laureate poet Joseph Brodsky was located. - End of the program in the city center.
