Transfer to Peterhof (by car)
Welcome to Peterhof – an unforgettable capital of fountains! This is a magnificent suburban residence of Russian tsars, founded by Peter the Great in 1705 on the shore of the Gulf of Finland. There are more than 100 fountains in Peterhof: that is the reason for a nickname – Russian Versailles. The Lower Park, with the majority of all the fountains, is a unique hydraulic structure that works thanks to a simple and brilliant system without the use of any pumps. This is a real decoration of Peterhof. It is just impossible to imagine the Grand Palace and the Park without hundreds of water jets – the key feature of the entire ensemble. The architectural dominant of the residence, the Grand Palace, acquired its famous baroque front door thanks to the architect B. Rastrelli in the middle of the XVIII century. On the tour you will see the royal halls and the exquisite rich interior decoration of the palace.
Free time for lunch is included in the tour schedule.
